R.I.P. Floyd
Son1 predicted it. Floyd died today. Floyd was an anole lizard that Son2 bought in February; one of two. Pink and Floyd had taken up residence in Son1's room. Twas a sad day indeed, he's resting inside a Deluxe check box somewhere near the southern hedgerow. He's been replaced by Lenny.
Son2 reminded me of what he said in February when he bought them, that they were only $6.99; if it died, he would simply replace it with another. "But I never thought I would grow so attached to them."
Nixtress talked about dogs and growing attached to them. I'm a dog person. I relate better to warm, fur bearin' critters. But lizards are fascinating in their own way, they have traits that would lend interest to the lives of those that like their food dead and their births live. These guys turn green when they're content. Could you imagine, knowing what a person's mood is by their skin color? Adds a new dimension to office politics, doesn't it?
No way am I eating live crickets.
